A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45351 was sufficient for detection of ENaC alpha in 15 µg of Mouse whole kidney lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 85 kDa.
Target Information
Epithelial sodium channels (ENaC) are amiloride-sensitive members of the degenerin/epithelial sodium channel (Deg/ENaC) superfamily of ion channels. These channels have two short intracellular termini, two membrane-spanning segments, and a large extracellular loop with a conserved cysteine-rich region. ENaC has three homologous isoforms (alpha, beta, gamma) and plays a crucial role in sodium and fluid balance in kidney, lung, and colon. It mediates aldosterone-dependent sodium reabsorption in the distal nephron, regulating blood pressure. ENaC is also associated with CFTR chloride channels. Mutations in ENaC subunits can lead to Liddel’s syndrome or pseudohypoaldosteronism (PHA-1).
