The eBioQA79 monoclonal antibody reacts with adhesion inhibitory receptor molecule 1 (AIRM1), also known as sialic acid binding immunoglobulin-like lectin 7 (Siglec-7), p75, and CDw328.
AIRM1 is a cell surface receptor belonging to the sialoadhesin family and shows homology with CD33. Its expression is confined to NK cells and various stages of myeloid differentiation. Crosslinking with eBioQA79 inhibits NK function.
This antibody is useful for monitoring cellular proliferation, particularly in conditions such as chronic myeloid leukemia.

Target Information

Siglec-7 is a putative adhesion molecule mediating sialic acid-dependent binding to cells. It preferentially binds alpha-2,3- and alpha-2,6-linked sialic acids and disialogangliosides.
Its recognition site may be masked by cis interactions on the same cell surface.
In immune response, Siglec-7 acts as an inhibitory receptor via ligand-induced tyrosine phosphorylation, recruiting phosphatases that block signal transduction.
It mediates inhibition of NK cell cytotoxicity and may play roles in hemopoiesis and leukemic myeloid cell proliferation.
