The monoclonal antibody V1NC3IDO recognizes human IDO1 (indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase).
IDO1 is an intracellular enzyme that catalyzes the degradation of tryptophan to kynurenines.
It is expressed in various tissues and cells, including macrophages, plasmacytoid dendritic cells, and several cell lines.
IDO1 can be induced by IFN-γ or other inflammatory stimuli.
Expression of IDO1 in antigen-presenting cells and tumors mediates immune suppression through tryptophan depletion and production of metabolites that induce T cell apoptosis and regulatory T cells.
This antibody reacts with IDO1 and does not cross-react with IDO2.
Applications Reported: Immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
Applications Tested: Tested by IHC on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human tissue using low pH antigen retrieval; optimal at ≤20 µg/mL.
Careful titration recommended for best assay performance.

Target Information
IDO1 is an intracellular heme-containing enzyme that catalyzes oxidative cleavage of the indole ring of tryptophan, serotonin, and melatonin, initiating production of kynurenines.
IDO1 is expressed in various human tissues, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
Induced by interferons (IFNs), IDO1 plays a role in antimicrobial defense by depleting tryptophan, inhibiting growth of pathogens.
It also contributes to immune regulation during infection, pregnancy, autoimmunity, transplantation, and cancer.
