Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are composed of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes, offering higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot is produced with a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, minimizing biological variability.

Note: Formerly called “Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody”; rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ Antibody.” Product and performance remain unchanged.

Target Information

Voltage-dependent anion channel (VDAC) proteins are abundant pore-forming proteins located in the mitochondrial outer membrane and also expressed in the plasma membrane.
At least three VDAC genes exist in vertebrates. VDAC proteins play essential roles in cellular metabolism and apoptosis, facilitating the exchange of metabolites such as ADP/ATP, succinate, and citrate between the cytosol and mitochondria.
VDAC1 in the plasma membrane may also contribute to apoptosis regulation through redox activity.
