Target Information

Protein NUMB homolog is an evolutionarily conserved protein that regulates the differentiation of neuronal progenitor cells.
NUMB participates in clathrin-dependent endocytosis by binding to the AP-2 complex and is expressed in postmitotic neurons where it contributes to axonal growth.
Neural cells expressing NUMB isoforms with short phosphotyrosine-binding (SPTB) domains exhibit extensive neurite outgrowth, which can be blocked by VGCC inhibitors or Ca²⁺ chelators.
