Target Information

Protein NUMB homolog is an evolutionarily conserved protein involved in the differentiation of neuronal progenitor cells.
NUMB functions in clathrin-dependent endocytosis by binding to the AP-2 complex and is expressed in postmitotic neurons, playing a role in axonal growth.
Neural cells expressing Numb isoforms with short phosphotyrosine-binding (SPTB) domains exhibit extensive neurite outgrowth, which can be inhibited by voltage-gated Ca²⁺ channel blockers or Ca²⁺ chelators.
