Antibody detects endogenous levels of fragment of activated PARP resulting from cleavage adjacent to Asp214.
Target Information
Poly ADP-Ribose Polymerase (PARP) uses nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (oxidized form, NAD) as a substrate to catalyze the transfer of ADP-ribose to nuclear protein acceptors. Proteolysis of PARP to its stable 85 kDa fragment is an early marker of apoptosis and is mediated by caspase CPP32. Cleavage occurs between Asp216 and Gly217, a site conserved across species.
