Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonals and the specificity of monoclonals, while maintaining the reproducibility of recombinant production.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes, enhancing detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot is produced with a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal production.

Target Information

IL-21 is a 17 kDa immunomodulatory cytokine mainly produced by NKT, Th17, and TFH cells.
In TFH cells, IL-21 signals through IL-21R and STAT3, activating transcription via Bcl6. It is essential for TFH cell development and function, promoting B cell differentiation, IgG production, and apoptosis in naive B cells.
In Th17 cells, IL-21 promotes IL-23R expression and maturation through STAT3, IRF4, and RORγt, while downregulating Foxp3.
IL-21 deficiency protects mice from chemically induced colitis, whereas elevated IL-21 levels are observed in colitis models.
