Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. Restore with deionized water or equivalent. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Store reagent in the dark and handle under subdued lighting during cell incubation and analysis.
Anti-AKT2 antibody is directed against human AKT2 and detects both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated forms of the protein. Cross-reactivity with AKT2 from other species has not been determined, but immunogen sequence shows 88% identity to mouse and 90% identity to rat, suggesting expected cross-reactivity.
Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues. It plays a key role in metabolic signaling pathways and transduces functions initiated by growth factor receptors that activate PI 3-kinase. AKT2 is amplified and overexpressed in some human cancers.
