Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human MIA. Anti-Human MIA-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human MIA matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human MIA by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL is required. In conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human MIA (500-P243Bt) as a detection antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human MIA.

Western Blot:
For detection of Human MIA by Western Blot analysis, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human MIA is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Tumorigenesis is mediated by a network of membrane, cytosolic, and nuclear factors regulating proliferation and cell-matrix interaction. Melanoma inhibitory activity (MIA), also known as cartilage-derived retinoic acid-sensitive protein (CD-RAP), is a SH3-like domain protein secreted from chondrocytes and melanoma cells. MIA is translated as a 131-amino acid pro-form and processed into a mature 107-amino acid protein. It is expressed during chondrogenesis and in mature chondrocytes, suggesting its role in maintaining normal cartilage phenotype. MIA mRNA is found in carcinomas of the colon, ovary, kidney, and head/neck, and may serve as a marker for monitoring melanomic activity.
