Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human MIA. Anti-Human MIA-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hMIA by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human MIA (500-P243) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hMIA.

Western Blot:
To detect hMIA by Western Blot analysis, use at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, detection limit for Recombinant hMIA is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Tumorigenesis is mediated by various membrane, cytosolic, and nuclear factors regulating proliferation and cell-matrix interaction. Melanoma inhibitory activity (MIA, cartilage-derived retinoic acid-sensitive protein, CD-RAP) is a SH3-like domain-containing protein secreted from chondrocytes and malignant melanoma cells.
MIA is translated as a 131-amino acid pro-form and processed into a mature 107-amino acid protein after cleavage of a secretion signal. It is expressed during chondrogenesis and in mature chondrocytes, suggesting its role in maintaining normal cartilage cell phenotype. MIA mRNA is found in carcinomas of the colon, ovary, kidney, and head/neck, and may serve as a marker for monitoring melanomic activity.
