• Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human CRP. Anti-Human CRP-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
• Sandwich ELISA:
  To detect Human CRP by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody.
  When used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human CRP (500-P242) as a capture antibody, detection sensitivity reaches 2000–4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human CRP.
• Western Blot:
  For detection of Human CRP, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Detection limit for Recombinant Human CRP is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.
• Package: 500-P242BT-1MG supplied as 2 × 500 µg.
• AA Sequence of recombinant protein: discontinued.

C-reactive protein (CRP) is a major cyclic, pentameric acute phase protein composed of five identical, noncovalently bound, nonglycosylated subunits (each 206 amino acids, 24 kDa).
Produced by the liver, CRP levels rise sharply during inflammation. It activates the classical complement cascade, binds to nuclear components (chromatin, histones), and plays a key role in innate immunity.
CRP acts as an opsonin, activates monocytes/macrophages, and participates in pathogen elimination by interacting with humoral and cellular effector systems.
Elevated basal CRP levels are associated with increased risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
