Target Information

KLF17 is a transcription repressor that binds to promoter regions of target genes, suppressing their expression. It acts as a negative regulator of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and metastasis in breast cancer by binding to the 5′-CACCC-3′ motif in the promoter of ID1, a key metastasis regulator. KLF17 may also function as a germ cell-specific transcription factor involved in spermatid differentiation and oocyte development.
