Product Specific Information

- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.

This antibody reacts with the C-terminus of endogenous NAG-1 protein from human and mouse tissues.
A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with NAG-1 from chimpanzee and macaque (100% homology).
Partial reactivity is expected against rat (86% homology).
Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined.
Target Information
GDF-15 belongs to the TGF-beta cytokine family, which plays important roles in prenatal development, postnatal growth, and tissue remodeling.
It is predominantly expressed in the placenta and at lower levels in other tissues.
Presence in amniotic fluid and elevated serum levels in pregnant women suggest involvement in gestation and embryonic development.
GDF-15 generally exerts tumor-suppressive activities and is induced via the p53 pathway.
Serum levels are positively correlated with progression of several tumor types, including colorectal, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.
