Antibody detects endogenous levels of JAK2 only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 221.
Target Information
Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) is a protein tyrosine kinase involved in cytokine receptor signaling pathways and is mutated in polycythemia vera. This kinase contains the catalytic domain (JH1) of JAK2. Activation of JAKs leads to phosphorylation of STAT proteins, which dimerize and translocate to the nucleus to regulate gene transcription. JAK2 is required for IFN gamma-receptor complex initiation, with JAK1 functioning as an amplifier. Mutations affecting JAK2 can cause Budd-Chiari syndrome, Polycythemia vera, Thrombocythemia 3, myelofibrosis, or Acute myelogenous leukemia.
