Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Galectin-1. Anti-Human Galectin-1-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Western Blot:
To detect hGalectin-1 by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, detection limit for Recombinant hGalectin-1 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Galectin-1 belongs to a large family of carbohydrate-binding proteins called lectins. It can exist as a monomer or homodimer and is found in various cells and tissues. Galectin-1 regulates cell growth and proliferation, induces apoptosis of activated T cells, and modulates cytokine secretion by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokine production. It plays a significant role in both acute and chronic inflammation.
