Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Galectin-1. The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography using an immobilized Human Galectin-1 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of Human Galectin-1 by sandwich ELISA, use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL antibody (100 µL/well). In combination with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human Galectin-1 (500-P210Bt), the detection limit is 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Galectin-1.
Western Blot:
For Western Blot analysis, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL antibody. Detection limit for Recombinant Human Galectin-1 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Target Information
Galectin-1 is a member of the lectin family of carbohydrate-binding proteins. It exists in monomeric or homodimeric forms and is expressed in various cell and tissue types. Galectin-1 regulates cell growth, proliferation, and induces apoptosis in activated T cells. It also modulates cytokine secretion and inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokine production, playing a key role in acute and chronic inflammation.
