Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine TRAIL.
Anti-Murine TRAIL-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine TRAIL by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine TRAIL (500-P303) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine TRAIL.

Western Blot:
To detect Murine TRAIL by Western blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 mg/mL.
When used in conjunction with compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Murine TRAIL is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

TRAIL (TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand) is a cytokine belonging to the TNF ligand family.
It preferentially induces apoptosis in transformed and tumor cells but does not appear to kill normal cells, despite being expressed in most normal tissues.
TRAIL binds to multiple TNF receptor superfamily members, including TNFRSF10A/TRAILR1, TNFRSF10B/TRAILR2, TNFRSF10C/TRAILR3, TNFRSF10D/TRAILR4, and possibly TNFRSF11B/OPG.
The protein’s activity may be modulated by decoy receptors (TRAILR3, TRAILR4, OPG) that cannot induce apoptosis.
Binding of TRAIL to its receptors triggers activation of MAPK8/JNK, caspase 8, and caspase 3 pathways.
TRAIL functions as a type II membrane protein and is expressed in various human tissues.
Like TNF and Fas ligand, TRAIL induces apoptosis and NF-κB activation in many tissues and cells.
