Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human EGF Receptor (EGFR). Anti-Human EGF Receptor (EGFR)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human EGF Receptor by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human EGF Receptor (500-P306) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human EGF Receptor.

Western Blot:
To detect Human EGF Receptor by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human EGF Receptor is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that signals in response to various growth factors. Overexpression has been linked to numerous cancer types and EGFR is the target of both biological and small-molecule therapeutics.
EGFR is encoded by the EGFR gene located on chromosome 7 in humans and belongs to the HER/ERbB family of proteins (ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4).
EGFR is a transmembrane receptor; binding of ligands such as EGF and TGF-α to the extracellular domain leads to dimerization and autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain.
Overexpression is observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
