This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CHRNA3 protein.
Target Information
CHRNA3 encodes a member of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor family. These proteins form pentameric complexes composed of alpha and beta subunits. The CHRNA3 gene encodes an alpha-type subunit characterized by adjacent cysteine residues. The encoded protein functions as a ligand-gated ion channel involved in neurotransmission. Polymorphisms in this gene are linked to smoking initiation and increased susceptibility to lung cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
