Target Information
Platelet Activating Factor (PAF) is a biologically active phospholipid that primarily exerts proinflammatory activities via G-protein-coupled receptors on platelets, neutrophils, and monocytes.
Platelet Activating Factor Acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH) is a secreted enzyme that hydrolyzes the sn2 ester bond of PAF, converting it into the inactive lyso-PAF.
PAF-AH also interacts with LDL particles to hydrolyze oxidized phospholipids, producing lysophosphatidylcholine (lyso-PC) and other lysophospholipids.
