Target Information
5-HT1F is one of several receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone functioning as a neurotransmitter, hormone, and mitogen.
The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity.
5-HT1F belongs to the GPCR family and is expressed in brain regions such as cortex, hippocampus, trigeminal ganglia, and cerebral blood vessels.
Peripheral expression is limited to uterus, mesentery, and artery, with no expression detected in heart, kidney, liver, pancreas, or spleen.
