Target Information
IL-6은 염증 및 B 세포 성숙에 관여하는 사이토카인을 암호화하는 유전자로, 자가면역 질환이나 감염 시 발열을 유도하는 내인성 발열물질입니다. 이 유전자는 급성 및 만성 염증 부위에서 주로 발현되며, 혈청으로 분비되어 IL-6 수용체 알파를 통해 염증성 전사 반응을 유도합니다.
IL6은 당뇨병, 전신성 소아 류마티스 관절염, 카포시육종 등 다양한 염증 관련 질환과 연관되어 있으며, SARS-CoV-2에 의한 COVID-19 감염 시 단백질 수치가 상승하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
