  • For FACS analysis, use 25 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
  • Suggested positive control for immunohistochemistry: spleen or lymph node.
  • Mouse anti-Dog CD4 antibody (CA13.1E4), monoclonal antibody specific for canine CD4.

Target Information

The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV.
CD4 is primarily expressed in T helper cells but can also be found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression is detected in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain non-lymphoid tissues such as brain and gut.
CD4 plays a critical role in initiating or augmenting T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase Lck.
It may also mediate neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
