Product Specific Information

This product is a low-endotoxin, preservative-free formulation. Endotoxin level is <0.01 EU/µg.
For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
Mouse anti-Human CD284 antibody, clone HTA125 recognizes the human Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) cell surface antigen.


Target Information

TLR4 is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved from Drosophila to humans and share structural and functional similarities.
TLR4 is most abundantly expressed in placenta and in the myelomonocytic subpopulation of leukocytes. Mammalian cells respond to LPS by activating TLR4, which forms part of a multi-protein complex containing CD14, LY96, and TLR4, involved in LPS-induced signal transduction.
TLR4 aids in recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and mediates cytokine production necessary for effective immunity. Mutations in the TLR4 gene are associated with altered LPS responsiveness.
TLR4 is expressed by peripheral blood monocytes, a small population of B-cells, and human placenta. Studies in TLR4-deficient mice show increased susceptibility to Gram-negative sepsis.
