Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Neurturin. Anti-Human Neurturin-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human Neurturin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Neurturin (500-P102) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Neurturin.

Western Blot:
To detect hNeurturin by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hNeurturin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) plays key roles in the control of vertebrate neuron survival and differentiation. A novel neurotrophic factor was recently cloned from human and mouse and designated neurturin. Physiological responses to neurturin (NTN) require the presence of receptor tyrosine kinase RET and a novel glycosylphosphatidylinositol-linked receptor NTNRα. NTN binds to and forms a complex with GFR-α2 and the RET PTK, activating the RET receptor tyrosine kinase pathway. Both NTN and GDNF can activate the MAP kinase and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase pathways, playing a critical role in the development of many neuronal populations. Neurturin and GDNF define a new family of neurotrophic factors.
