Product Specific Information

The SK7 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and chimpanzee CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR complex. The epsilon chain is essential for proper assembly, trafficking, and surface expression of the TCR complex.
CD3 is expressed by thymocytes and all mature T cells. SK7 and UCHT1 antibodies cross-block binding, indicating overlapping epitopes, whereas OKT3 and SK7 recognize different ones.
This antibody recognizes chimpanzee CD3.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.5 µg)/test.
Cell number per test typically ranges from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells.

Fluorophore Information:
eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®, excited at 405 nm and emitting at 445 nm. Compatible with Violet laser detection.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

The CD3 complex is crucial for transmitting antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulating TCR surface expression.
It consists of CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits encoded by genes on chromosome 11.
CD3 is present on 68–82% of peripheral blood lymphocytes and 65–85% of thymocytes but absent on B and NK cells.
Defects in CD3 genes are associated with CD3 immunodeficiency.
