Product Specific Information

The LN3 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human MHC class II molecule, HLA-DR, expressed on antigen-presenting cells including B cells, monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and activated T cells.
HLA-DR is a heterodimeric transmembrane protein essential for peptide presentation to CD4⁺ T lymphocytes.

Target Information

HLA-DR is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB).

• Alpha chain (DRA): 5 exons; exon 1 encodes leader peptide, exons 2–3 extracellular domains, exon 4 transmembrane and cytoplasmic tail.
• Beta chain (DRB): Contains polymorphisms determining peptide-binding specificity.
• Hundreds of DRB1 alleles are known; typing used in bone marrow and kidney transplantation.
• Expressed on antigen-presenting cells: B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, activated T lymphocytes.
• MHC Class II loci: DR, DQ, DP.
• Critical for peptide presentation to T-helper cells and immune response initiation.
• Used in Immunopeptidomics for neoantigen identification via LC-MS/MS.
