Product Specific Information
The 17A2 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD3 complex. CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon) are essential for proper assembly, trafficking, and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressed developmentally in thymocytes and consistently in mature T cells. Binding of 17A2 to CD3 triggers intracellular signaling leading to activation and proliferation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes (≤0.5 µg/test). A test is defined as the antibody amount required to stain cells in 100 µL final volume. Cell numbers may range from 10⁵–10⁸/test. Titrate for optimal results.

eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®, excited at 405 nm and emitting at 445 nm. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Target Information
The CD3 subunit complex transduces antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulates TCR surface expression. CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta) are part of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded on chromosome 11. They associate with cytoplasmic signaling molecules via tyrosine-based motifs. CD3 plays roles in growth arrest, survival, and proliferation.
CD3 antigen is found on 68–82% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, 65–85% of thymocytes, and Purkinje cells, but not on B or NK cells. Decreased T lymphocytes may occur in autoimmune diseases. Defects in CD3 genes can cause CD3 immunodeficiency.
