Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with cytokeratin peptides 7 and 17 (54 and 46 kDa). Cytokeratins are members of the intermediate filament subfamily of intracellular proteins represented in epithelial tissues.
This antibody does not cross-react with mouse, rat, or rabbit.
Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides.
They range in molecular weight between ~40 kDa and ~68 kDa and have isoelectric pH between 4.9–7.8.
Human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20. Expression patterns vary depending on epithelium type and degree of differentiation.
Cytokeratin subtype expression is used in distinguishing epithelial malignancies and is valuable for differential diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
