This antibody recognizes native human CEACAM7 protein expressed in transfected mammalian cells.
Target Information
CEACAM7 (CEA-related cell adhesion molecule 7) is a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family. It encodes a glycosyl phosphatidyl inositol (GPI)-linked glycoprotein located on the apical surface of highly differentiated epithelial cells in the adult colon and a small epithelial cell population in pancreatic ducts.
CEACAM7 expression is lost during malignant transformation, including hyperplastic polyps, early adenomas, and adenocarcinomas of the colon. Like other CEACAM family members, CEACAM7 consists of a single N domain with structural homology to immunoglobulin variable domains, followed by one immunoglobulin constant-like A domain.
