Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes native human CEACAM1, 3, 4, 5, 6 proteins expressed in transfected mammalian cells.
Target Information
CD66 molecules are 180–200 kDa glycoproteins of the carcinoembryonic antigen family. They are present on all blood granulocytes and some tissue macrophages, but are absent from other hematopoietic cells.
Expression of CD66 increases significantly upon granulocyte activation.
CD66a (BGP1, CEACAM1), CD66d (CGM1, CEACAM3), CEACAM2, and CEACAM4 are transmembrane proteins, whereas CD66c (CEAL, NCA, CEACAM6), CD66e (CEA, CEACAM5), CEACAM7, and CEACAM8 are anchored to the plasma membrane by a C-terminal glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) lipid moiety.
