• Heat-mediated antigen retrieval using sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended for paraffin sections.
• Suggested positive control: tonsil.
• For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the working dilution to label 1×10^6 cells in 100 µL.
• Mouse anti-Human CD35 antibody, clone E11 recognizes complement receptor type 1 (CR1), also known as CD35 or the C3b/C4b receptor.

Target Information

CD35 (CR1, Complement Receptor 1) is a cell membrane-bound monomeric glycoprotein that serves as the receptor for C3b and C4b, key components of the complement system. It mediates cellular binding to particles and immune complexes that have activated complement.
CD35 exists in four allotypes (C, A, B, D) with molecular weights ranging from 160 to 250 kDa. It is expressed on neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes, B-cells, some NK-cells, erythrocytes, myeloid leukemias, and follicular dendritic reticulum cells, but not on basophils.
Altered expression or mutations in CD35 have been linked to various diseases including gallbladder carcinoma, lupus, and sarcoidosis, and may confer protection against severe malaria. Multiple splice variants and a secreted form of CD35 have been described.
