Description:
The B20.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse T-cell receptor (TCR) V alpha 2 chains. It recognizes the majority of the TCR V alpha 2 subfamily in mice carrying the a, b, and c haplotypes, and also reacts with TCR V delta 8 products due to high homology.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse lymph node cells. Recommended ≤ 0.25 µg/test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL final volume (typically 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Preblock Fc receptors for 10 minutes using 0.5 µg purified anti-mouse CD16/32 (Product #14-0161-85).
Careful titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

T cell receptors (TCR) are essential for distinguishing foreign from self-peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, critical for adaptive immunity.
Recognition of self-peptides is linked to autoimmune diseases, while mutant self-peptides are associated with tumors.
Superantigen engagement of TCRs can cause toxic shock syndrome.
Autoantibodies to V beta TCR segments have been identified in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), potentially modulating inflammatory responses.
Most human T cells express TCR alpha-beta with CD4 or CD8, while a subset (double negative) lacks both. Increased alpha-beta DN T cells are associated with autoimmune and immunodeficiency disorders. Gamma-delta T cells, found mainly in epithelia, exhibit limited diversity and distinct antigen recognition, with roles in antitumor and immunoregulatory activity.
