The UC7-13D5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse γδ TCR complex. This receptor is expressed by a small subset of T cells in thymus, peripheral lymphoid tissues, intestinal epithelium, and epidermis. These cells are suggested to recognize bacterial ligands and tumor cells in the context of MHC class I-like gene products, playing roles in immune regulation and bacterial infection.

• Applications Reported: Used as a phenotypic marker for γδ TCR-expressing T cells in flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry on mouse thymocytes and splenocytes; ≤0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume).

Target Information

TCR gamma/delta (T-cell receptor γδ) are specialized T cells that recognize antigens differently than αβ T cells. They play roles in immune regulation, antitumor activity, and response to bacterial infections. Most human T cells express αβ TCRs with CD4 or CD8, while γδ T cells are primarily found within epithelial tissues and exhibit limited TCR diversity.
