Target Information

Histone H3 is one of the DNA-binding proteins found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it binds to DNA forming the nucleosome structure. Histones are essential for transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes various post-translational modifications, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing chromatin structure and gene expression.
