Target Information
The urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (PLAUR/uPAR/CD87) regulates cell-surface plasminogen activation and is involved in normal and pathological processes.
Human PLAUR cDNA encodes 335 amino acids, including a 22-residue signal peptide and a hydrophobic C-terminal portion, producing a glycosylated ~50 kDa protein anchored to the membrane by glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol linkage.
PLAUR associates with SELL and beta-2 integrins in neutrophils, mediating calcium mobilization and correlating with invasiveness and progression in endometrial carcinomas.
UPAR protein expression is positively associated with recurrence and mortality in endometrial cancer, serving as a potential prognostic marker.
