Target Information
The urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR/CD87) is a key molecule in regulating cell-surface plasminogen activation and plays an important role in normal and pathological processes.
Human PLAUR cDNA encodes 335 amino acids, including a signal peptide of 22 residues and a hydrophobic C-terminal portion, producing a glycosylated ~50 kDa protein anchored by a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol linkage.
PLAUR associates with SELL and β2 integrins on neutrophil membranes, mediating calcium mobilization.
UPAR mRNA levels correlate with endometrial carcinoma invasiveness and disease progression, serving as a prognostic marker for advanced endometrial cancer.
