Target Information
The urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (PLAUR) is a key molecule involved in cell-surface plasminogen activation, playing crucial roles in normal and pathological processes. Human PLAUR cDNA encodes a 335 amino acid protein, including a signal peptide of 22 residues and a hydrophobic C-terminal portion. It forms a glycosylated protein (~50 kDa) anchored to the plasma membrane via glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol linkage.
PLAUR (UPAR) associates with SELL and β2 integrins on neutrophil membranes, mediating calcium mobilization dependent on SELL. UPAR mRNA levels correlate with invasive potential and disease progression in endometrial carcinomas, making UPAR a prognostic marker for advanced endometrial cancer.
