Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Mouse Serum. Reactivity observed against recombinant GFP (Aequorea victoria) by Western blot; no reaction seen against RFP.
Target Information
Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from Aequorea victoria emits green light in bioluminescence reactions. Widely used as a reporter protein and fusion tag in gene expression and protein localization studies. GFP is a 27 kDa monomeric protein that forms a fluorescent pigment without cofactors. It absorbs blue light (395 nm) and emits green light (508 nm). GFP fluorescence is stable and species-independent, suitable for applications such as FRET, protein–protein interaction assays, and cellular localization studies.
