Target Information
MAPK1 (ERK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an activator of p90 RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is involved in the MAPK pathway.
ERKs serve as integration points for multiple biochemical signals and regulate proliferation, differentiation, transcription, and development.
Activation requires phosphorylation by upstream kinases, after which ERK2 translocates to the nucleus to phosphorylate nuclear targets.
