Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to reconstitution. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge if solution is not clear after standing.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody specifically recognizes the 6X His motif and is useful for detecting His-tagged proteins in various assays.
It reacts with all tested His-tagged proteins and does not cross-react with endogenous bacterial proteins.
Recognizes His-tag (His-His-His-His-His-His) fused to either the N- or C-terminus of target proteins in transfected or transformed cells.
Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH).
It is commonly expressed at either the N- or C-terminal of recombinant proteins to facilitate purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
Epitope tagging allows detection of recombinant proteins for which no specific antibody exists.
His-tagged proteins can be purified using Ni²⁺-NTA affinity chromatography due to the strong and selective binding between histidine residues and nickel ions.
His tag-specific antibodies are widely used for detection, purification, and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
