Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Reacts specifically with human ERK2. Anti-ERK2 is purified from tissue culture supernatant by protein A purification. Cross-reactivity is expected with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. This antibody does not react with the ERK1 isoform.
Target Information
MAPK1 (ERK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an important activator of p90 RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is involved in the MAPK pathway. MAP kinases, also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals and are involved in diverse cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development. Activation of this kinase requires phosphorylation by upstream kinases, and upon activation, it translocates to the nucleus to phosphorylate nuclear targets.
