Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein widely expressed on human leukocytes, white matter of the brain, and certain epithelial cells. It acts as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and plays roles in cell-cell interaction, adhesion, and migration.
CD44 is involved in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing. Expression may increase in some carcinomas, potentially linked to metastatic potential.
Multiple isoforms exist due to complex alternative splicing, contributing to structural and functional diversity.
Diseases associated with CD44 dysfunction include superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus. CD44 may also be related to tumor metastasis formation.
