Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein widely expressed on human leukocytes, white matter of the brain, and certain epithelial cells of the intestine and breast.
It functions as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and participates in cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration.
CD44 plays roles in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing. Expression may be upregulated in carcinomas and associated with metastatic potential.
CD44 is expressed by hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, epithelial tissues, and filopodia in cultured keratinocytes.
Bone marrow myeloid cells and memory T cells express CD44 at high levels, and peripheral B and T cells can upregulate CD44 in response to stimulation.
Alternative splicing of CD44 transcripts results in diverse isoforms; some full-length variants remain undetermined.
Diseases associated with CD44 dysfunction include superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus. CD44 may also be implicated in tumor metastasis formation.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
