Product Specific Information

• Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water.
• After reconstitution, store product undiluted at 4°C in the dark.
• For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
• Rat anti Dog CD8 antibody, clone YCATE55.9 was clustered as Canine CD8 in the First Canine Leukocyte Antigen Workshop (Cobbold et al., 1994).

Target Information

Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family that plays an integral role in signal transduction, T cell differentiation, and activation.
CD8 is predominantly expressed on T cells as a disulfide-linked heterodimer of CD8α and CD8β, functioning as a co-receptor with TCR for MHC-I molecules.
CD8 is also found on subsets of T cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells as CD8α homodimers.
Binding of MHC-I/peptide complexes triggers recruitment of Lck, leading to lymphokine production, motility, and cytotoxic T lymphocyte activation.
Activated CTLs are crucial for pathogen and tumor cell clearance. Differentiation of naive CD8⁺ T cells into CTLs is enhanced by IL-2, IL-12, and TGF-β1.
