The monoclonal antibody 3G6 recognizes human, mouse, and rat ZEB1. ZEB1 (zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1), also known as Transcription Factor 8 (TCF8), Negative Regulator of IL2, and AREB6, acts as a transcriptional repressor that inhibits interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene expression.
It regulates expression of E-cadherin, BCL6, ATP1A1, and RCOR1 through binding to enhancer boxes (E-boxes), promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cancer invasion.
ZEB1 is expressed in differentiating tissues such as T cells and skeletal tissues, and mutations have been associated with corneal dystrophy.

Applications Reported:
This 3G6 antibody has been used for western blotting and IHC of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

Applications Tested:
Tested by IHC on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human tissue using high pH antigen retrieval. Recommended ≤10 µg/mL with titration for optimal performance.

Purity: Greater than 90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Aggregation: Less than 10%, determined by HPLC.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

ZEB1 (Zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1) functions as a transcriptional repressor inhibiting IL-2 gene expression. It modulates ATP1A1 promoter activity depending on cDNA quantity and cell type.
ZEB1 represses E-cadherin promoters and induces EMT by recruiting SMARCA4/BRG1, represses BCL6 transcription via CTBP1, and regulates neuronal differentiation and RCOR1 transcription during neurogenesis.
Mutations in ZEB1 are associated with corneal dystrophies, including Fuchs endothelial dystrophy.
