Mouse anti-Rabbit CD25 antibody, clone KEI-alpha1 recognizes rabbit CD25, a ~55 kDa cell surface antigen, also known as the interleukin-2 (IL-2) receptor alpha chain.
Target Information
CD25 (IL2 receptor alpha chain / IL2RA) is a cytokine receptor involved in the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. The IL2 receptor is a heterotrimeric complex composed of IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG chains, forming a high-affinity receptor. Homodimeric IL2RA chains produce a low-affinity receptor, while IL2RB homodimers form a medium-affinity receptor.
IL2RA expression in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing a unique regulatory mechanism for precise gene expression. IL2 is primarily produced by mature T cells and functions as a growth, differentiation, and survival factor. It stimulates B cell proliferation, enhances NK cell activity, and inhibits granulocyte-macrophage colony formation. Mutations in the IL2RA gene are associated with interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency and immune dysregulation.
