Target Information
Tau는 주로 축삭에서 발견되는 신경 미세소관 결합 단백질로, tubulin 중합을 촉진하고 미세소관을 안정화하는 역할을 합니다.
C-말단은 축삭 미세소관에 결합하고 N-말단은 신경 세포막 구성 요소에 결합하여 Tau가 두 구조 사이의 연결 단백질로 작용함을 시사합니다.
Tau의 과인산화 형태는 Alzheimer’s disease(AD) 뇌에서 신경섬유 엉킴(neurofibrillary tangles)의 주요 구성 요소이며, 미세소관 결합 기능을 손상시켜 신경퇴행을 유발합니다.
Tau는 GSK-3β, PKA, cdk5, casein kinase II 등 여러 serine/threonine kinase에 의해 인산화됩니다.
과인산화 Tau는 Pick’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, corticobasal degeneration, progressive supranuclear palsy 등 다양한 신경계 질환에서도 발견됩니다.
