Target Information
Thyroid Peroxidase(TPO)는 막 결합성 당단백질로, 갑상선의 정상적인 기능에 필수적인 효소입니다. 이 단백질은 thyroglobulin 내의 tyrosine 잔기의 요오드화와 요오드화된 tyrosine 간의 phenoxy-ester 결합 형성을 촉진하여 thyroxine(T4)과 triiodothyronine(T3) 생성에 관여합니다.
TPO 유전자 변이는 선천성 갑상선기능저하증, 선천성 갑상선종, 갑상선 호르몬 생성 결함 IIA 등 다양한 갑상선 관련 질환을 유발할 수 있습니다. 여러 전사 변이가 보고되었으며, 일부는 완전한 길이가 아직 규명되지 않았습니다.
TPO 관련 질환으로는 Thyroid Dyshormonogenesis 2A 및 Congenital Hypothyroidism이 포함됩니다.
